hmmm
Update ToPK and Sorrow's Furnace drops to make the areas more enticing. Maybe add a few new PvP maps into ToPK. The two areas are nearly dead now.
Make Perdition Rock into a Prophecies elite area with repeatable quests and a special collectible drop that can be traded for new armor / weapons. The existing monsters there could use some skill revamps and perhaps add some more professions of hydras, drakes, and phantoms to make the area more challenging. Skins and map can stay the same.
This area is already quite large and has some decent monsters there, so revamping it to elite status shouldn't take that much work.
Make all grind titles account-wide / transfer reputation points between characters (with a small penalty)
Allow donation of faction for 2x points on allegiance title as a guest to another alliance
Make Luxon Longbows less lazy in JQ. Make Siege Turtles shoot shells that go up very high and then come down (i.e. don't attack walls).
7 heroes & 1 non-eotn PvE skill of hero's primary profession each
Kill Shadow Form...
Kill leechers...
Make Cry of Pain do damage only when it interrupts a skill.

I don't really expect anything. I'm just going to wait and see, that way I'm not supremely disappointed by exciting myself over nothing.
At this point, I'd also like to predict another stupid tonic that nobody likes, when there are a plethora of threads listing tonics that wouldn't in fact suck.

Besides the storage and HOM updates I'm expecting some new quest (much like the Mox string) or a new explorable area. In her journal when Linsey is speaking of her workload she makes mention that after she hands the design notes to the programmer she is finished until she gets it back to spawn. Spawn. SPAWN! That's a big word. It is, of course, very possible that I am reading too much into the word, but unless she's just talking about creating new town NPC's to access the additional storage then I'd say we'll see some new red dots somewhere in the game.
I like new red dots.
One other interesting note in the FAQ is that a new explorable the size of FOW or UW would take about 50 days without counting QA, and with no new background textures. Well -- since it's an update a quarter instead of an update a month this seems at least possible where in the past it was impossible. I'm sure not expecting the Realm of Lyssa, but I can at least dream, and even without new background or world textures this could fit the lore. After all, Lyssa is the Goddess of illusion.

ooh hey thats right, the sound of that 'spawn' word does sound promising...
it has the ring of 'new PLAYABLE content' to it...
unless its connected to the storage somehow. They could 'spawn' me some rubies into my storage, I wouldnt mind, my ele needs Vabbian.

This may have already been mentioned, but Id love the /bonus items to appear in a seperate window when I spawn them so I don't have to trash a dozen items or more each time I want to equip a hero or something.

Actually, they are Not.
Runes are the same now as common scrolles used to be - each one IDs for a different amount of gold and they cannot stack. When ANet did the update years ago that made scrolls stack, you could not stack the newer scrolls (already identified for 100 or so gp) on top of the older scrolls (could ID for anything from 100 to 200g). I know because I used to ID them and the MS them for quick cash.
Insignias and Inscriptions are the same way - they all ID for different amounts of gold and cannot stack.
They funciton the same, but they are all different.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What I expect:
* Expanded Char storage in the form of a Book holder - that's it.
* Expanded Account storage in the form of either increases in Materials or addition of Dye storage - that's it.
* Account HOM in the form of desplaying Destroyer/Torments and Armors collected for an entire account - that's it.
What I HOPE for:
* Expanded storage for chars with multiple sets of armor (good money sink), multiple sets of weapons.
* Ability to store Mini's (in your HoM?)
* Make Sweet Tooth, Drunkard, Party Animal account-wide. (I know Linsey has said "there is no compelling reason", but there is - player satisfaction. Let me play ALL my chars using all my sweet points and alcohols to buff them. What compelling reason is there NOT to? Time? Copy/find/replace the wisdom/treasure hunter update code for consumables.)
* Update more useless elites, give Mesmers their missing Prophacies elite
* Make FC, SP, Str more useful
* Faction scrolls - Earn Norn/Asura/EV/Lux/Kzk at a higher rate in exchange for cash & materials
* KoaBD EMOTE! Now that we have two "I am better than you are" PvP emotes, how about one for people who worked their way up in PvE?
That's all I want. Maybe some other things, but that's it for now.
In my opinion, there are so many things that they could fix with Guild Wars. Some of the basic game mechanics are just dumb and pointless.
For instance, Skill Points. Why were these seriously invented in the first place? Since skills increase in price over time, this is already a decent gold sink and will prevent players from buying a bunch of worthless skills for no reason. I mean seriously: A gate to prevent people from having "too many" skills. Since low level characters already have other things holding them back, like Attribute Points, bad armor, etc., it seems really pointless. In the end, the only thing that this did was annoy veteran players, as any alternate characters had to effectively wait until they had enough "skill points" to run proper builds.
ArenaNet must have thought of it as a stupid mechanic themselves, because in Eye of the North, they create the consumable Star of Transference to allow people to effectively transfer as many skill points as players wanted to low-level characters anyway. So whatever ArenaNet was trying to "gate" characters with skill points, it was effectively removed with the Eye of the North expansion anyway.
I sure hope that we don't see this kind of nonsense in Guild Wars 2: They create a game mechanic that is just dumb, then create objects within the game universe as some kind of ad-hoc fix for the bad mechanic.
Guild Wars is actually pretty efficient on game mechanics when you compare it to any other MMO.
But yeah, skill points are pretty unnecessary and aren't interesting in the current state of the game. To prevent new players from instantly training every skill in the game at level 1, they can simply keep using the current model, which is that the skill trainers are spread out throughout the campaign. I think the skill point mechanic is a holdover from way back when the game was originally intended to be PvP, with PvE as a training campaign.
Do you remember early on when you had to un-train attribute points? That design was totally incompatible with the idea that you could switch up skills whenever you were in town. Obviously they realised that and fixed it. I'm surprised the concept of skill points wasn't erased at that point. It looks like they're basically just used for consumables now, and they are more like "levels that you can spend" than "skill points" in that sense.
Yes but PvE doesn't need an emote, PvE titles are easily obtained unless they involve large amounts of gold (and then there's ebay).
I can see something like what we have with the Dragon Lair working for Lyssa's realm. Any other such 'otherworldly' environments?
Melandru could simply be a range of natural environments.
Dwayna is one we'll probably never see, since the domain of the goddess of air and light is hard to imagine using existing textures.
They can't do anything like this. GW1 development is over, they moved all the people to GW2 except 2 or 3. I can't wait to see the tears from the next update though. The only way they can make it more epically funny fail is to make 4th year mini pets just repeat 1st year.
